A Summer Full of Little Miracles

There's a moment almost every day at PrimeTime that stops me in my tracks. A child figures something out for the first time, or wraps their little arms around a friend who's having a hard morning, and I think, Lord, thank You for letting me be here for this. Our summer camp winds down on July 24, and as I watch these Augusta babies build their last towers and finish their last experiments of the season, I keep coming back to the same truth I've known since I opened these doors: we don't just teach children at PrimeTime. We love them. And that love comes straight from God.

Faith Isn't a Subject, It's the Soil

People sometimes ask me how faith fits into a STEM school. Here's how I see it: faith isn't a subject we schedule in between science and math. It's the soil everything else grows out of. When a three year old is counting blocks or a seven year old is testing whether an object floats or sinks, I want them to feel, deep down, that they are known and loved before they ever get the answer right. That security is what lets a child take risks, ask questions, and try again after a mistake. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to train up a child in the way he should go, and I take that seriously — not as a rule to enforce, but as an invitation to plant something lasting in each child who walks through our door on Fairview Ave.

What Love Looks Like on a Tuesday Afternoon

Love at PrimeTime looks like getting down on the floor to see a puzzle from a four year old's eye level. It looks like praying quietly for a family going through something hard, even if they never know it. It looks like our teachers staying late, not because the clock says 5:00 PM, but because a child needed one more hug before mom or dad pulled into the parking lot. Augusta and Richmond County families trust us with their most precious people during some of the most formative years of their lives, and I don't take that lightly. Every lesson plan, every science experiment, every quiet moment of redirection when someone's having a rough day — it's all filtered through the same question: is this loving? Is this what Jesus would want for this child right now?

As our summer campers finish up their last week and a half together, our hearts are already turning toward fall. Enrollment for the new school year is open now, and our regular hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, give Augusta families the flexibility they need while knowing their child is somewhere that feels like home.
